Mouthguards are quickly becoming compulsory in all schools and clubs participating in contact sports.
Although the enamel that surrounds our teeth is very strong, high impacts can cause fractures, breaks and even damage the nerve that sits in the centre of our teeth.
If this nerve is damaged to a point at which it cannot repair itself, we may have to perform a root canal treatment to save the tooth from needing extraction.
We strongly advocate having a professional mouthguard made if you participate in contact sports and feel the small investment will have life-long benefits. Our front teeth are the most prone to being damaged when playing sports and being in our aesthetic zone are often the most difficult to repair.
Sports mouthguards are available in a wide range of different colours and even in the different countries flags.
