What Is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® consists of a series of almost invisible,
removable aligners that you change every two weeks. As you replace each aligner you will see that your teeth have moved slightly into a more ideal position. Because of this gentle process the treatment is very comfortable. You will have a full set of aligners that will take you from where your teeth are currently to the end goal of that perfect smile.
How Will I Know If It Will Work For Me?
Invisalign® can treat every case that fixed braces can so it will definitely work for you. There are only very rare cases where it will not be suitable but Dr Al-Shaikh will let you know beforehand. The best thing to do is to book a free consultation with us at Alexandra Road where Dr Al-Shaikh can assess the condition of your teeth and let you know a rough estimation of how long the treatment will take.
You will also be able to see what the aligners look and feel like. Once you know that you are ready to proceed, the best part is that you will receive a virtual 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck© treatment plan) that shows the series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of the treatment. This allows you to see upfront what your teeth are expected to look like at the end of the treatment. From the results of the ClinCheck treatment plan, your custom-made, clear aligners are produced especially for you.
How Long Will It Take?
Depending on the severity of your course treatment can range from as little as 14 weeks up to 2 years.
Most Invisalign® cases are completed within the first 12months and then after that any small adjustments are made to perfect the case. To find out how long the treatment will take book a free consultation to see Dr Alex Al-Shaikh who can give you a rough idea.
Do I Have To Come Back to the Practice Every 2 Weeks To Get the Next Aligner?
No. Of course we like to see you but we realise that this is not convenient. We generally review patients every 2 months to ensure that things are working as expected and to make any small adjustments required. We tend to give you 4-6 aligners to get on with at home every 2months.
Is It Better Than Having a Fixed Brace?
Invisalign® has many advantages over fixed braces. They are listed below:
- The aligners are removable therefore you can take them out if you have a big occasion.
- The aligners are removable therefore you can clean your teeth properly and are less at risk of developing decay which can sometimes happen around the brackets that are stuck to your teeth because you can't clean them properly.
- The aligners use very gentle forces on your teeth therefore they are less at risk from becoming damaged and hurting.
- The aligners are almost invisible therefore noone will notice that you wearing a brace.
- The treatment can often be completed quicker.
How Much Does It Cost?
Depending on how long your treatment takes the price can vary. However because of how advanced the system is the prices tend to between £2000-4000 for a your whole mouth to be treated.
Can I Spread The Cost?
You certainly can! We have a fantastic 0% interest finance facility which allows you to spread the cost of your treatment to get affordable monthly payments that you will feel comfortable with. If you would like to find out more about the finance please come in and see us at Alexandra Road, where we can give you all the information you need.
